In Latin, ignis means fire or passion. We created Ignis Arts to bring to life our fire and passion for ballroom and partner dancing. Three core values drive everything we do at Ignis.

We believe in a connection and communication centered approach to ballroom dancing. Partner dancing is a language, not just a skillset. Whether you are social dancing with a beginner or executing advanced gold patterns in a competition, dancers need to understand the fundamentals of connection and communication with their partner above all else.

We want to create a joy filled community where every dancer feels comfortable and confident. Whether you are drawn to ballroom because it sparks your creative side, because you love the math and physics of movement, or a combination of both, you will find likeminded friends at Ignis. From the extrovert who loves the party scene to the introvert who enjoys the quiet connection between two dancers, we want Ignis to feel like home.

We want to create an artists centered space. Whenever possible we try to root our studio in the local dance ecosystem. We are grateful to the many artists and organizers who keep social dancing alive and we want to do what we can to support these artists while helping contribute to a vibrant Boston social dance scene.
